Energy & Enterprise Award for conservative thought leadership

E&EI’s 2014 “thought leadership contest” is now underway for young conservatives!

Compete for $5,000 and make the case for a free-enterprise solution on energy & climate

At the Energy and Enterprise Initiative, we believe that conservative Millennials and young professionals are instrumental to America’s leadership on energy and climate.  We’ll be awarding cash prizes to young conservatives who most effectively communicate a conservative climate-and-energy platform.

2014 contest topic: “If you were a 2014 conservative candidate for elected office, what would you say to your constituents about how conservatives should address climate change?”

Submissions can take the following forms:

  • –Essay (not to exceed 3,000 words in length)
  • –Op-ed
  • –Letter
  • –Online video (e.g. a stump speech, not to exceed 5 minutes in length)
  • –Audio file (not to exceed 5 minutes in length)
  • –Pamphlet
  • –Infographic

Eligibility

Anyone aged 29 or younger is invited to compete.

Awards

Energy and Enterprise Award Winner (1)

  • –$5,000 prize
  • –Expenses-paid trip to participate in an E&EI event
  • –Winning piece published will be placed in an external media outlet

Energy and Enterprise Award Runners Up (1-2)

  • –$1,000 prize for each (if two runners up)
  • –Expenses-paid trip to participate in an E&EI event
  • –Will also submit for publication in an external media outlet(s)

How to Apply

To compete, please send an email to admin@energyandenterprise.com and attach your 1) cover page (described below), 2) your submission and 3) a brief biographical statement highlighting any involvement in the conservative movement.  For large video files, get in touch to arrange the best option for submission. With your entry, please include your name, mailing address, cell number, e-mail address and employer or school currently attending. This information will be used to confirm and authenticate submissions with each individual.

Timeline

Submissions are open and will be accepted until June 15, 2014 at 12 noon (EST).  Finalists will be announced shortly after the June 15th deadline.

Judging

E&EI’s Advisory Council will select the finalists, who will then compete on social media for the top prize. More information will be released in the coming weeks regarding the social media used platforms used to select the winner.
