Video: R Street debate “Are there circumstances under which Republicans can support a carbon tax?”

The R Street Institute hosted a debate among conservatives on Thursday, June 13, exploring the topic “Are there any circumstances under which conservatives should support a tax on carbon emissions?

E&EI executive director Bob Inglis teamed up with R Street senior fellow Andrew Moylan to debate Heartland Institute senior fellow James Taylor and Heritage Foundation research fellow David Kreutzer. At the conclusion of the debate, a straw poll was taken and approximately 80% of the audience indicated they favored taxing carbon emissions in return for a dollar-for-dollar tax swap on something else (FICA taxes, corporate income taxes, etc.).

Full debate video is below as well as event photos and complete photo gallery of the debate.
